Being a dog trainer in the Santa Clarita Valley, teaching dog obedience training, I have seen just about every " Bad Dog" scenario you can imagine. Dogs that jump up on guests relentlessly, barking mad, pulling leashes, chewing everything in sight, growling and biting. Dogs that are skittish, to over the top love balls that won't leave you alone. Some dogs aren't bad at all, they just have some manners that need to be addressed like barking at the door bell and potty training. But they all have one common denominator, owners that don't know how to communicate to their dogs.
"What we have here is failure to communicate"
People try to talk to their dogs and train their dogs like they were little humans. That is where the disconnect begins. Putting a dog on timeout teaches them nothing. Correcting them when they do wrong, showing and guiding them and praising them when they choose to do right is how it works for a dog in a pack setting.
This is what I teach my clients on a daily basis. Dog obedience training and the art of canine communication. By simply using proper voice tones, good body language and timing, dogs respond extremely quickly. The trick is to train my clients, dogs already know this language. I never hurt dogs or use clickers or treats. Treat training, in my opinion is just a form of bribery in the end. What I strive to create for my clients is a trust- bond relationship with their dogs. For dogs this trust-bond relationship is in the form of leadership. Since dogs are pack animals by nature, it only makes sense that they look for a leader in their own pack. Most family's don't have that canine pack leadership thing down as a day to day lifestyle. So their dog just ends up running the household. It's instinct pure and simple. Some clients feel that is they can get their dog to sit or stay they are leading them, but there is a huge distinction between compliance for a treat and choosing to follow a command out of mutual respect. If you would like to learn more feel free to look around my site, or you can give me a call or email me. I would love to help you and your family with your dogs so that you can also have peace and harmony in your home once again.
Santa Clarita Dog Training Success Story's.
Scott is truly an amazing trainer. He came to our home, and in less than a month, our dog Bailey did a complete, 100% turnaround. He started listening to us and walking on a leash, rather than pulling us, and now has the ability to get along with our new puppy. At times, we just can't believe the changes that have occurred since we hired Scott. He is truly an asset ! We will continue to highly recommend him to anyone we know that may be in need of an excellent dog Trainer.
-- Maria & Greg Carlson, North Hills, CA
Scotts methods are not only a great way to train a dog, but a great way to help the owner understand how a dog thinks. The training works quickly but consistency is a must. I would(and have) recommend Scott to anyone who thinks they have a "problem" dog.

Scott gave a great first impression and presentation. He's fantastic with the dogs and very patient with the owners..."

"Our dog never came to us when called, was horrible on the leash and barked at every leaf that flew by...Scott came into our life and gave us his intro..My wife and I laughed at him while he told us how he could help because everything we did with her for the last 2 years never worked..The cost was reasonable and I seriously laughed at him while I gave him the check because I thought it was way to good to be true!! On the bible within 10 minutes of his training she was already 65 percent better, and know after 3 visits she is almost a PERFECT dog..."
Would you recommend Scott? "Absolutely 100%! Our dog is so much more pleasurable to be around and she sleeps better too! Nothing but Happy Tails!!"Sharon Avalier
